Dreams are for Rookies {Kansas City Band Photography}
It’s no secret that I love music! I consider myself quite the music nerd, I listen to just about anything. Anything that is, that sounds genuine. That is my one requirement for music, it has to sound like they really mean it. Not like they needed to start a band, and that’s how they thought it should sound, but they needed to start a band, and that is just how it sounds. That may only make sense to me, but here I am, sharing it with the internet. So last week, I headed down to the Riot Room with my friend Deb, of Influential Expressions (she is fabulous btw, does just about anything and everything social media related….but I digress). Deb coordinates media for the band Dreams are for Rookies, the headlining band that night, and she asked me to take some photos of the guys in action. The music was a total bonus! Anytime you can combine cello, harmonica and awesome into music, I’m so there! They had such great energy, and it was so much fun! I must admit, I don’t get to hear a lot of local music being as busy as I am, but I think I need to hear more! So anyway, enough of what I think, on to the pictures!

Last Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing Dan and Shawna, a fabulous couple who never stopped making me laugh! Dan proposed to Shawna with a Gummy Lifesaver, which was the cutest thing I have ever heard of! Check out his story about it here. (Hope he doesn’t kill me for that.) They were so much fun to photograph, and their love of comics and craziness was awesome! Thanks for being you and letting me capture it!
Bella Turns Five! {My Baby’s Rock Star Kids Session}
Well, technically, she turned five in December, but we finally got a chance to do her photoshoot the other day! We’ve been waiting and waiting for the weather to be nice to us, and it finally happened. YAY! While visiting my mom in Springfield, and before another photoshoot, I actually had some time to shoot my own kid! sIt is so crazy that this is my baby. She is getting so big, and she is so grown up! It is becoming obvious she is really learning her way around a photoshoot. During the whole hour and a half I we were shooting, she was making up her own poses and coming up with her own shots! She’s becoming quite the little model and stylist, as she has definate ideas about what she was going to wear. I better shut up now, before I get all teary eyed and cry all over my laptop!
Check out our Kids Rock Star session if you want to remember your child’s fun years in a fabulous way!
Evelynn Jane! {Rock Star Baby Session}

Kayte got married last May and wanted to trash her dress! We met up at a secret location (okay, a small unassuming park with a cool hidden away creek), and she totally rocked this shoot! Kayte braved the water and the heat for some stunning images with her wedding gown! The results are fabulous, and she looks so hot! Thank you so much Kayte for everything!

Puppy Love!
Recently my Mom came to visit, and she brought along my adorable little sister Penny Lane (the one with the pink bow). After some coaxing and a few treats, she finally allowed me to take some pictures. Ralphie (my adorable little Bagel), on the other hand was a totally camera hog. He even climbed into Penny’s pink bed just to get more camera time. Bella also got in on the action and posed for a few pictures as well. This has inspired a new pet-special to be announced soon!
Ralphie says: “Please don’t kick me out of the pink bed, I reallllly need more pictures for my portfolio mom!”P

Emily Got Trashed!
Okay, I know I can’t keep saying that….it’s starting to lose it’s funny. BUT…..check out these AMAZING images! When I called Emily to set up her shoot, she said her and her husband love classic cars, and she wanted to shoot at a junkyard! We both knew of the most awesome place to go, Lorenz Auto in Corder, MO. We were both so excited and had an amazing time! Laura came along as my assistant and even shot a few images herself! Emily was such a trooper! We shot for over 2 hours and captured some fabulous stuff! Thanks Emily for bringing the Hot-ness!
Jessica Got Trashed!
Tuesday was an amazing day! I had such a blast shooting with Jessica! She totally rocked it! We headed out to Cave Springs in Raytown, which proved to be an amazing location to shoot. Melissa (see previous post) came along as my assistant for the day, and she was awesome! We also had the pleasure of working with Nicole Brown, a wonderful makeup artist who gave Jessica the perfect look! Jessica braved the mud, dirt and even a crawdad to get some amazing images! Thank you girls for everything, teamwork paid off, and the photos look great!
Melissa got Trashed!
Not that kind of trashed silly! Check out the latest Trash session! The beautiful Melissa and I headed down to the fountain in front of Union Station for the first of my test TTD sessions! While we did get kicked out of the fountatin eventually, we managed to capture quite a few beautiful images first! After we got kicked out, we headed over to the Crown Center fountain because we just weren’t finished yet! We were eventually joined by two cute kiddos, one of whom asked me if Melissa was famous. She may not have been yesterday, but we are totally in the KC STAR this morning! Check that out, as well as the results from the session! Want some sweet portraits like Melissa? Give me a call or email me for details! Sessions start at $49!
I Heart Kansas City…..
….because today was so much fun! The kiddo and I hit up the Brookside Farmers Market, Kansas City’s all-organic farmer’s market! Totally had a blast. I bought lamb for the first time, and I will be making Gyro burgers tomorrow night, thanks to the folks at Green Dirt Farms (who have the CUTEST logo ever)! Then, because we just needed more fruit, the kid and I drug the hubby to the City Market for some more fun, and I brought my camera this time! Here’s a few snaps from the City Market! We will definitly be back next week!
They’re bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy

My favorite colors, Veggie Style!
Beautiful Daisies, I wanted to take them all home…..but it would be wrong, they needed to go to a loving home, where they wouldn’t be dead within a week.

It’s Fruitalicious….
Honeycomb…….YUMMY!
Ric and Jeremy
This weekend was amazing! I had the great privilege to photograph a most special event! My brother-in-law committed his life to an amazing person who is a welcome addition to our family. Ric and Jeremy’s commitment ceremony was truly an inspiration, and I feel so honored to have been a part of it. Ric and Jeremy are both actors, and we had so much fun during their engagement session, that I knew the ceremony would be a blast! Their reception was held at Haper’s at 18th and Vine, in the amazing Jazz District! It was a gorgeous restaurant, and the staff was wonderful! Don’t even get me started on the food! It was THE BEST! Everything was organic and chemical free, which, being dubbed a “green-queen” was something I was excited about! I will absolutely be back for more! It was definitely a challenge to be both a guest and the photographer, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way! Thank you both so much for being such fun subjects and for allowing me to be a part of your special day! I love you both, and I feel so proud to be able to call you family!
Everything was so beautiful!
Harper’s was amazing!
